Ingvar Kamprad International Masters Scholarship at Lund University in Sweden 2021

The School of Industrial design at Lund University is inviting applications for the Ingvar Kamprad International Masters Scholarship in 2021.

The Master’s Programme in Industrial Design focuses on three themes: Living and Behaviour, Form and Technology, or Man and Nature. The Programme consists of individual industrial design projects, workshops, and additional theo­retical courses.

You will participate in and contribute to the creation of knowledge within the field of design. By organizing exhibi­tions, seminars, and workshops, you will communicate your work and participate in the public debate. The School of Industrial Design offers you a creative environment with excellent workshop facilities.

Worth of Award

  • The aim of the scholarship is to support two students enrolled in the Master’s degree Programme in Industrial Design.
  • The financial support is aimed at students that have difficulties to afford the living costs in Sweden.
  • The scholarship is SEK 100 000 per year (about EUR 10 000), to cover the cost of living and accommodation for ten months, from August to May, during the two years of study. The selection will be from motivation.

Tuition fee

When the Swedish government in 2011 decided to apply tuition fees for non-EU/EEA-students, the Stichting IKEA Foundation established two new scholarships. Each scholarship is SEK 210 000 per year for two years, in order to cover the tuition fees. The selection will be from the portfolio. The tuition fees will be paid directly to the University.

The following are the eligibility criteria;

  • A Bachelor s degree with relevance to the applied education.
  • A digital portfolio of the applicant s own work in the field that clearly proves that the applicant has good potential to benefit from the Programme. English 6.
  • All students must prove they meet English language requirements by the deadline, in order to be considered for admission.
  • Most of Lund University’s Programmes require English Level 6 (unless otherwise stated under ‘Entry requirements’).
  • This is the equivalent of an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 90.
  • There are several ways to prove your English language proficiency –check which proof is accepted at the University Admissions in Sweden website.

  • You must also submit a portfolio, a portfolio summary page, a statement of purpose and a CV when you apply for this Programme
  • Prepare program-specific documents if stated on this page
  • Pay the application fee (if applicable) and send the documents before the document deadline
